End of good times, Sudbourne, Randy Badger, Start of good times. Oh and a cracked elbow.

So I'm sitting in my living room due to over eagerness to ride dirt last weekend, one sunny weekend and I just had to pull out the dirt jump bike and head to Sudbourne for my first jump session for about 6 months, jumping is not my strong point and this became apparent as I stacked almost immediately on the second medium double and cracked the end of my elbow, it's very painful and i'm expecting to be off the bike for about a month but I'm getting off subject here.
The sun is beaming onto my face, I can feel the vitamin D lifting my spirits and the corners of my mouth, yes dry trails, yes riding without lights and yes riding without out layers and tonnes of kit to keep the rain and cold out. But wait is it just me, or?
I'm not entirely sure that these things are bad.
Getting all geared up for a soggy evening ride with as many lumens as you can muster strapped to your bars and helmet and whatever like minded nutters you can find to join you, seriously I have rode nearly every week through this winter and have enjoyed every minute of it, It seemed that every time i headed out the views that greeted me were completely different, cloudy, clear, sunny and at times absolutely buried in snow, albeit usually wet and cold.

.         ( I don't think Stacey appreciated all the mud. Sorry)

Think about the smiles you've had as you skim past trees and off drops only being able to see 10ft ahead, the immature giggles as both your tires slide out on a corner you know so well, the sheer hilarity when you return to civilization with mud covering your face feeling like some sort of macho outdoorsy Bear Grylls come Ned Overend rider and of course the absolute terror when you find yourself in the middle of a woods alone with nothing for company but a randy badger that you can hear chasing you down.
(This actually happened and i'm still a little afraid that said badger is stalking me).
Yes these good times are gone and rightfully i'm a little bit sad but it's hard to be to sad about it when spring is in the air.
